Glen Ridge is governed under the Borough form of New Jersey municipal government and consists of a Mayor and a Borough Council.

The Council is comprised of six members all elected at large to serve three-year terms. Two seats come up for election each year. The next Council election will be held on November 8, 2022.

The Mayor is elected directly by the voters to a four-year term of office. The next Mayoral election will be held on November 7, 2023.
