Freeman Tennis Courts

The Freeman Tennis Courts are operated by the Borough of Glen Ridge Recreation Department and are located on the corner of Woodland Avenue and Willowdale Avenue in Montclair. Home of the Glen Ridge High School boys and girls tennis teams, the facility features six clay courts and one hard court and are open seven days a week April through October (weather permitting). Registration and a permit fee is required.

Permits

Preseason registration (March 19 through April 15) for permits for the 2018 season is now closed. All registrations must take place on-site at the courts during hours of operation with check or cash only. We are hoping to expand online registrations to accept in-season registrations next year. Please note that the following information is REQUIRED to register:

5. Date of birth

Youth Tennis Lessons

Youth tennis lessons at Freeman Tennis Courts for ages 5 - 17 June 26 - August 11 -- Monday through Friday: Instruction will include proper racquet grip, volleys, forehand and backhand rallying, serves and returns, overheads and lobs, and match play. Registration and a fee is required.

Preseason registration for Youth Tennis Lessons for the 2018 season is now open. Please note that the preseason period is March 19, 2018 through June 15, 2018, and all registrations after June 15 must take place on-site at the courts.
